About us and getting started
What is Kensington Removals?
A premium, white-glove removals firm for Kensington and the Royal Borough — W8, SW7 and W14. We specialise in period-property moves and the careful handling of fine art, antiques and high-value contents, with packing, secure storage and discreet moves into Europe.
How do I request a quote?
Use the quote form with your addresses and a note on the contents — particularly any art, antiques or awkward pieces. For larger homes we’ll arrange a discreet survey, in person or by video, so the quote is precise.
Which areas do you cover?
Kensington (W8), South Kensington (SW7) and West Kensington (W14), including Kensington High Street and the Holland Park edge — the Royal Borough and its immediate surrounds.
Is your service discreet?
Yes. Discretion is part of moving in this part of London — a low profile, respect for your privacy and your neighbours, and a move handled quietly from survey to final placement.
Period property, art & antiques
Do you handle fine art and antiques?
It is central to what we do. Paintings, mirrors, sculpture, antique furniture, pianos, chandeliers and long-case clocks are crated to measure, condition-noted and handled by experienced people. See our fine-art and antiques page for the detail.
Do you make bespoke crates?
Yes — made-to-measure crates built to the piece rather than a standard box, for paintings, mirrors, sculpture and delicate items facing any journey from across the square to across the Alps.
Can you move within a period or listed building?
That is most of Kensington. Narrow turning stairwells, small period lifts and conservation-area constraints all shape the move — we survey the access, plan the carry, and protect the fabric of the building throughout.
Can you move a grand piano or a chandelier?
Yes. Pianos are moved by people who know how to bring them through period stairwells; chandeliers are dismantled, wrapped, crated and reinstalled where required. These are planned jobs, not on-the-day improvisation.
Do you offer packing and secure storage?
Both — export-standard packing and bespoke crating, and discreet secure storage for a gap between homes, a refurbishment, or a collection in transit, handled by the same team with no double-handling.
Moving into Europe
Do you move internationally as well as locally?
Yes — road removals from Kensington to France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland, with the same white-glove packing and the customs handled. Alongside that, most of our work is premium moves across the Royal Borough.
How does a move from Kensington to Europe travel?
By road on one vehicle — loaded in Kensington, across the Channel by Eurotunnel or ferry, and on through Europe to your address. Art and antiques are crated and condition-noted before they leave the house.
Is Switzerland handled differently from the EU?
Yes. France, Spain and Italy are EU imports under the transfer-of-residence relief. Switzerland is outside the EU, so it is a full import against the Swiss household-goods declaration. We prepare the paperwork and coordinate with agents either way.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly, or send your move details and we’ll answer in the quote.
